EARLY APPLICATIONS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

The National Commission for Cooperative Education is proud to assist and promote the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation’s leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education. Founded in 1975 as a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization, HSF’s vision is to strengthen the country by advancing college education among Hispanic Americans. In support of its mission to double the rate of Hispanics earning college degrees, HSF provides the Latino community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country. During the 2007-2008 academic year, HSF awarded nearly 4,100 scholarships exceeding $26.6 million. In its 33-year history, HSF has awarded more than 86,000 scholarships worth more than $247 million to Latinos from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands attending nearly 2,000 colleges and universities.

HSF scholarship opportunities are available to graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll in college, community college students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university, currently enrolled college students, and graduate and professional students. Students must be of Hispanic heritage, be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (or the equivalent) and apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For more details about HSF scholarship programs and to apply on line, please visit the HSF web site at www.hsf.net.
